The Bisson Family is Blooming

This beautiful family of 5 is becoming a family of 6!  Before I even begin to explain the joy I had photographing this family, I need to share that at the core this family is truly inspiring and full of love.

I'm sure with three kids,  aged three and under they quickly turn heads.   As a mom of two kids three and under myself, I must admit even I was thinking how do they do it.  And now another on the way!   Monica and Mitchell don't just do it.  Tristynn, Jaxyn, and Londynn are some of the most well-behaved little loves I have ever met.  They are sweet and caring and to top it all off they use their manners.  At such a young age, it speaks volumes to the kind of parents Monica and Mitchell are and the kind of family they are raising.

Tristynn, the oldest of the Bisson crew is a doll.  Does her pose not say it all?  She was always ready to show her sweet smile to the camera.

Remember those manners I talked about.  At first Tristynn wanted to climb into the old VW bus.  As I began to help her in, we both noticed that the seat was rotted out.  She ever so politely, turned to me and said "No thank you.  I don't want to stand in there."  Getting to work with this little 3 year old was a dream!

At just 2 and presently the only boy in the family, Jaxynn is quite the thinker.  He certainly enjoyed exploring Nelson's Landing but it was evident that it was done with thought and purpose.
Already I seem something protective in his nature.  While he may not be the big brother to all, I can certainly see him playing the big brother role to both of his beautiful sisters.

And little Londynn is simply precious.  She is fiercely independent for just 14 months.  While I think she will appreciate the guiding hand of her older sister and the protective eye of her older brother, she won't be afraid to pave her own path.

And while she is independent, she is a bundle of love.  You can tell her heart leaps for each of her family members.

Together we had so much fun exploring Nelson's Landing.  While it's a common place for photographers to venture out of Las Vegas and have photoshoots at, it was my first time shooting there and I couldn't have had a better family to do it with.   My camera is overloaded with beautiful photos from our family session, but this is just a peak at some of the adorableness I got to capture.

Monica and Mitchell celebrated "fillin her up" and with a family as great as theirs, they should!

Thank you Bisson Family for letting me capture these images for you.  Your family most definitely captured my heart!

Where We Grow Families

A year and a half ago my family and I moved across the country from the Philadelphia area to Las Vegas for my husband's job.  I was thrilled to have the opportunity to stay home with my children, but quite honestly I was at a complete loss for what I could possibly do with a 4 month old and 22 month old in "Las Vegas".  What I knew of Las Vegas was the strip: the partying, up all hours, and a world of things completely inappropriate for children.

In the past year and a half I have been so pleasantly surprised at all Las Vegas has to offer young children.  This city is scattered with some of the most amazing public parks and tremendous story times.  We've explored indoor playgrounds, gone on various hikes, and so much more.

About a month ago, in a facebook group dedicated to moms in Las Vegas, a discussion was happening about when expecting moms were due.  Suddenly this image popped in my head! Wouldn't it be wonderful to get a group of expecting moms together to do a photo shoot here in Las Vegas as a way of celebrating this completely different and beautiful side of Las Vegas that locals know and love.  The side of Las Vegas where so many of us are happy to be starting and growing families.

On Sunday June 29th, 10 expecting moms, beautiful on the inside and out, braved the heat and donated their time to help this vision of mine come to life.  I truly couldn't have asked for a better group of women to photograph.  They totally embraced the whole concept of this photo shoot!

In addition to the photo above, I had one other image I really wanted to capture.  I wanted to capture a photograph of the moms each holding a sign saying how far along she was.

I also was able to capture a few shots of some of the beautiful moms individually.

Throughout the process of getting moms to participate, I wanted to show my gratitude to these mom for graciously donating their time to help my vision come to life.   I began contacting numerous companies and small businesses asking them to donate to goody bags each mom would receive.   I am incredibly thankful to these companies for their generous donations:

Three Lollies

"Casual name, great product!" It's a good thing that we have a sense of humor! Yes, many people believe that our products named "Preggie Pops" & "Queasy Pops" could not possibly come from a serious background. Believe it or not, "Preggie Pops" & "Queasy Pops" were conceived and developed by health care professionals! In our line of work, we are daily witnesses to how debilitating nausea can be. We also came to realize that not every nausea remedy works for every person or situation, and that many people would prefer not to take a prescription if they can avoid it. We found that a lot of our patients wanted something "natural".
With all that in mind, we did some research into natural pharmacologic agents, reading through the available literature (both scientific and non-scientific), talking to numerous other health care professionals from a number of disciplines, and most importantly, talking directly to nausea sufferers. Many patients were willing to share their favorite home remedies, and through time and research, we were able to determine which ones really work. We discovered which herbs are truly helpful, and developed flavors that would be appealing to anyone with a queasy stomach

My heart is with each of these beautiful women.  My prayers and best wished for a smooth labor and the healthy delivery of your little loves.  Words cannot express my tremendous gratitude for your time and positive attitudes!
